I am a caffeine-holic but I refuse to let caffeine dictate my life any more. I didn’t supervene 12 steps to battle my addiction. It took a heavy kidney infection with numerous stones to end my destructive behavior. Now I drink hot water with lemon, but I’ll get to that in a moment.

Growing up, I never liked coffee. Sure, I got my quarterly caffeine fix by the likes of chocolate and cocoa drinks but I don’t think I would have been classified as an addict back then. I attribute the start of my addiction with the military (disclaimer: the military did not force me to consume large amounts of caffeine as part of some government lab experiment, at least I don’t think so).

Bean Head

When I joined the military at the tender age of 18, coffee was the last thing on my mind. However, once I began my 26-year career, coffee just became a way of life. My first experience was in Germany, out on campsite – you know, sleeping in a tent under cold, wet and miserable conditions. Although I didn’t like the taste of coffee, there was something about it that warmed my poor frozen body and gave me that “oomph” to continue through the day. Out in the field, one cup of hot java quickly became two, then three…you get the picture.

Suddenly, coffee was a mainstay. It was the first thing I drank when I got to the office to get a boost in the morning. I only drank it in the mornings but then, when I pulled night shifts as Staff Duty Officer or Battle Captain, it became my constant companion. My addiction with coffee wasn’t all corporeal either, it was emotional as well. I have many fond memories of sharing the brew with my co-workers first thing in the morning. We would laugh and chat over a hot cup of Folgers and all seemed right in the world.

Over the years my dependence on coffee increased, not only mentally but physically as well. I had my first kidney stone in 1997. I still remember it so vividly – pain and all. My business was deploying to Egypt and my First Sergeant and I met early in the morning to go over some last exiguous details. Unfortunately, I had to get the bathroom every 5 minutes until I doubled over in pain and told him to get me to the Er! After any Iv bags of fluid, which just about made my eyes pop out, I gave birth to a healthy pea-sized kidney stone! I never attributed the incident to coffee.

I prolonged my connection with the exiguous black bean, relying on its power to make all well in my world. I had my second kidney stone assault sometime in 2005. Still, I did not give up my exiguous habit. Possibly it was that I didn’t realize caffeine might be a culprit or maybe I just ignored that exiguous fact. Coffee was too important to me. Once, I went all morning without a fix and suffered a serious caffeine throbbing head which caused me to throw up. If you’ve ever suffered from caffeine withdrawal, you know it’s not pleasant!

It’s taken me nearly 22 years to ultimately say goodbye to coffee! Recently I suffered a severe kidney infection which made me very ill. The kidney infection was brought on by kidney stones – go figure. The urologist informed me to quit coffee, even decaffeinated. What a blow! What was I going to do now? I decided if I couldn’t drink my daily blend, that I would substitute it with tea so I “smartly” made myself decaffeinated green tea or herbal lemon tea. Although I did suffer from some uncomfortable headaches as a supervene of the lack of coffee, to my surprise I was able to make the transition.

Then the physician told me “No tea! Tea is bad for you!” Now, I was devastated. It clearly became clear to me that, while I did have corporeal craving for my hot drink, that my emotional bond was so much stronger. The physician told me to only drink water or lemonade. He said the lemon was good for my kidneys. So, I obeyed and drank water with lemon all day long but it just wasn’t the same and I was depressed.

One morning, something clicked in my head. I was sick and tired of drinking cold lemon water so I decided to heat it up. I cut a fresh lemon in half and squeezed it into the hot water. When I took the first sip I got a happy sensation and laughed to myself. At that occasion I remembered years ago when my grandmother would come to visit us. All she ever drank in the mornings was hot water.

Subsequently I found out that this nothing else but isn’t a novel idea and that population have been doing it for years. I also found out that it is nothing else but good for you because it stimulates your digestive system, flushes your kidneys and assists your body in eliminating toxins. Plus, it nothing else but tastes good (if you squeeze in a fresh lemon).

While I still have fond memories of my beloved coffee, I have now started a new chapter in my life which doesn’t comprise it. My kidneys are too important to me. Grandma got it right. I guess prune juice will be next?

My former intention centered on introducing my arrival to weight loss by focusing on the all-important emotional aspects that others in the field do not typically address. Having discussed topics like longevity, consistency, hunger, and slippage, I did not find it surprising when a growing whole of readers began to invite information about the basics of getting started. “What should I eat?” became the e-mail refrain. Therefore, in response to your questions, I am going to dedicate this description to the meat and potatoes (!) of how to begin your journey to weight loss and improved health. The information I plan to share today might surprise those of you who have relied on gimmicks and other outlandish eating regimens in the past. I do not rely on gimmicks: instead I plan to reintroduce you to the truth about how your body physically handles food and teach you how to work with that knowledge. I do not warrant results based on food intake: instead I plan to introduce you to the truth of how your psyche emotionally handles food. I will teach you to use self-awareness and reflection to understand how your mind complicates what is essentially a easy biological process. In short, there are no gimmicks and no miracles, only base sense and truth. Interested?

Before I begin, then, let’s look at a few of those truths. First of all, if weight loss were easy to achieve, every person would be thin; therefore, let me be honest and affirm what you have, no doubt, experienced. Sometimes weight loss is difficult, and less often it is very difficult. While most habitancy need a dinky help and advice to achieve their goals, they surely need much more withhold and advice to profess their success. The truth is, many habitancy reach their goal weight and then inevitably find themselves right back up where they started-and the majority of these find themselves carrying a few added pounds.

Bean Head

Why? Well, because they did not learn the Whys of weight loss. Why are you up in the first place? Why is it so hard to lose? Why can’t you keep the weight off? No matter who you are, if you are more than 30 pounds overweight, I can tell you one thing: it is Not because you have been very hungry for the last join of years; it is Not because you are weak and worthless; and, it is Not because you haven’t tried with every fiber of your being to lose the weight! Then what is there to do about it? You can try to accept yourself just the way you are. Surely, that’s something we should all strive for, but can you truly accept what your medical tests indicate? Can you feel comfortable with the image you see in the mirror? If you cannot, then allow me to help you understand the truth about the Whys.

First, let me say a word about support. After I respond your questions about what you should eat, you will know, intellectually, exactly how to lose weight. I promise. Here is the thing: you must understand from the start that very few of us can hear what we should eat, supervene the directions without slipping, and achieve our goal weight without any support. You do not need withhold because of inherent frailness on your part. You need withhold so you can reeducate yourself about how weight loss occurs. You need withhold to help eradicate the misinformation that has bombarded you for a lifetime. You need withhold to say No to the “diets” that are not based on salutary eating much less salutary lifestyles. You might not want to hear it, but the truth is that most of what you have learned about losing weight is false. Especially insidious are the chemical substitutes you have learned to use in place of fattening foods. Saying no to those diets should not be too difficult; after all, how has saying yes benefited you in the past?

If you settle to say a whole-hearted Yes to my approach, I will break it all down for you so that you understand not just the basics of allowable nutrition, but also the truth about how our deeply embedded emotional issues are connected to our use of food and the condition of our bodies. When it gets hard as it sometimes will, I will help you. In fact, I have prepared for this moment by publishing these articles and e-zines you will find beneficial in the first weeks of your commitment to discovering the new you.

Are you ready?

Wait. Before we get to the food, I need to tell you that you must, must, must, be Consistent. Your body needs you to commit, from the start, to Consistency. You must be Consistent in what, when, and how much you eat. At first, Consistency is going to look like a very repetitive menu. Why? Why not a discrete menu plan? I’ll tell you why. The moment you accept the challenge to convert your life, you invite obstacles into your day that are far greater than merely choosing the right foods from among the wrong ones. Therefore, we are going to head off any stumbling that might arise were you left to wonder, “What should I make for breakfast/lunch/dinner?” This is not the time to invite the Barefoot Contessa in you to surface; it is the time to one-up Rachel Ray every evening and brag, “I make 15-minute meals.” Got it?

Okay, here it is…

I believe in a high fiber, low fat diet. Period! This is the way to feed your body so it functions at its best. Period! In addition, you must drink four to five 16 oz. Bottles of water every day. Drink, drink, and keep drinking! Lastly, get a notebook and plan to document all you put into your mouth beginning today. Itemizing your food intake is a crucial step toward self-awareness! You will be astounded at what you eat without thinking.

Basically, I want you to plan a separate menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You will vary the meals from day to day, but only slightly. I want you to eat the same quantum size every day. No matter what! Even if you feel hungrier one day than you did the day before, you must not eat more. Know in advance that you will be eating a healthy, nutritious, and well-balanced diet, a food plan that is healthier than any you have followed in a long time. Because of this, you will begin to lose weight. dinky feelings of hunger are the body’s signal that it is about to give up some of its excess weight. Go back to my blogs for a detailed explanation.

Now, the following are beginning guidelines to direct your menu planning. If you supervene them, you will lose weight because they work: it’s as easy as that. While there are many, many separate types of foods that will withhold weight loss and keep you balanced and healthy, these guidelines will get you started and help you begin to gawk your connection to food. In upcoming e-zine and blogs, I will continue to help you gawk what has surely been stopping you from achieving your goals; for now, this is a good way to start.

I would ask one more thing of you: try not to look at this as whatever other than an experiment. If you stick to this easy eating plan, you might see that many emotions begin to arise. I have asked you to keep a food journal to encourage awareness about what you eat, and I want you also, and even more importantly, to keep an emotional journal. In this journal, you will begin to gawk what is surely going on when you feel compelled to eat. The idea is for you to distinguish between eating because you are hungry vs. Eating because you are angry. Writing down what you eat, along with how you feel emotionally, throughout the week will provide you with the information you need to take control, finally, of this terrible cycle of gain and loss. So, no matter how hard it is, do not veer off the path: gawk within and write it down.

Breakfast Choices

Choose one and have it every morning to pave the way toward Consistency, or mix them up, if you are so inclined.

1. Oatmeal. A uncostly quantum is served in a cereal bowl not a mixing bowl! Please sprinkle some fruit on top-any kind, even a banana, if you like. I prefer berries for their antioxidant benefits.

2. High fiber cereal. Look for something in the healthier section, with low sugar content. The Kashi™ cereals are great, but if you don’t like them, Whole Grain Cheerios™ will do the trick. Again, add fruit.

By the way, it is always fine to add fruit to anything. Many habitancy omit fruits because they have been taught that some are high in sugar. What you have not learned is that the sweetness in fruit is a stock of nature, not a chemical created in a laboratory, and your body knows how to process it. In addition, nobody is significantly overweight from having consumed too much fruit!

1. Eggs. If you have a cholesterol issue, use egg whites. Add some spinach or broccoli for fiber.

2. Chia Seed Pudding! Look for the formula for this surely appetizing treat in e-zine of 1-21-2010. Chia seeds provide protein, fiber and fullness of omega 3′s.

Regardless of how you feel at breakfast time, do not duplicate up. Eat the same whole every day, and if you are particularly hungry one morning, be strong knowing that you are about to lose weight and your body is fighting it! always remind yourself that you are now eating for the weight you want to be, not for the weight that you are now. Hang in there and let your body adjust. Adjustment looks like weight loss.

Lunch Choices

1. Dinner leftovers. Something that you can pack up the night before and have ready to go in the morning. Plan to make extra for dinner, so you always have a great lunch waiting.

2. Green salad with fullness of veggies. The darker the green the better. For protein add some beans, chickpeas, fish, tofu (if you like it), organic chicken, or tuna fish. Use your imagination. Oil and vinegar are your best choices for dressing, but if you won’t eat salad without blue cheese dressing, then add some. I want you to enjoy your healthier food choices so that you are sure to finish every meal. A bit of blue cheese will do you no harm!

3. Whole wheat veggie wrap. This looks much like your salad, just wrapped up! Spread the wrap with a dinky humus.

4. Soup. This is only if you make it yourself with low sodium broth (under 250mg). Try Trader Joe’s low sodium vegetable broth. Please, please, please stay away from all cafeteria or pre- made soups! Actually, I want you to stay away from all prepared foods. Those Weight Watchers™, Lean Cuisine™, and many other supposed frosty “diet” meals are all loaded with sodium. It is very difficult to lose weight when you include sodium in your diet. I will discuss this in greater detail in future e-zines; please, just trust me on this one.

5. Sushi. The qoute with sushi is the soy sauce. If you can do without that, then enjoy. If you cannot, forgo it in favor of one of the above choices because the sodium will do you in.

Dinner Choices

Dinner should look very similar to lunch, but it should be the lightest meal of all. When you go to sleep, your body will continue to burn off some food, and what it has not burned off, it will store. How will you know if it is going to burn off adequate to lose weight? Well, are you a dinky bit hungry? Not starving-that would mean you skipped a meal somewhere-but just a bit hungry? Well, that’s your body telling you that it is on track to lose while you sleep. How hard is that?

1. Fish with a side of steamed green veggies.

2. Chicken with a side of steamed green veggies.

Keep this easy and on the smaller side. Use a small plate so your serving looks larger and you don’t feel deprived. You do not need a salad, appetizer, main protein procedure with more veggies, and a starch. This would be far too much food! Remember, the last thing you want to feel is full after a meal. You want to feel just about satisfied, not quite full, but close. Remember, if you don’t have adequate calories from your meals to burn while you sleep, you will burn stored calories and this will supervene in weight loss. Keep Dinner light!

Please make sure to space your meals between four and five hours apart. You want to feel hungry for your next meal, but not out of control! Also, girls, let’s stop using such words as “starving.” Look on the Internet to see what “starving” looks like. You are not starving; you ate a mere four hours ago. You are not being victimized; you are proactively limiting your intake of food so you can lose weight and feel and look better. What you are doing is a choice: Your choice.

Snack Choices

If you must go more than 5 hours between lunch and dinner, then have a snack. A snack gets you from one meal to the next. If it fills you up, then it is dinner.

1. Fruit. I don’t care what you choose, just be sure it is only one serving: a small apple, a dozen

grapes, 2 slices of pineapple, etc.

2. Veggies. Celery and carrots with, perhaps, a bit of hummus, will do.

3. Nuts. A Small handful! Unsalted almonds, walnuts, and Brazil nuts are your best choices.

Again, these are the guidelines to get you started. Eat the same sized meals and similar types of food every day. Stay away from sodium!! Do not put it on your food, and do not eat processed foods that are loaded with it.

Okay, that’s how you do it. Simple? Yes and no. If you take out all of the emotional reasons why you have a hard time sticking to a program, then it’s easy. But….that’s the catch. So, get started with this, today and every day-weekends included. If you hit a bump please reach out for withhold – I will will continue to give you more and more information about why we eat what we eat, why it’s hard to stop eating unavoidable foods, and what all of this is doing to us internally, emotionally, and physically.

You can do it!

It’s no hidden among coffee aficionados that french presses make the best tasting coffee. A french press or press pot as they’re sometimes called, truly brings out all of the flavors, flavors that are muted in others forms of development coffee. One sip of coffee from a french press and I’m sure you’ll agree.

Using a french press is easy to do, here’s easy steps to guide you along in the process.

Coffee

Start by boiling your water.

To guarantee the absolute highest number of freshness, once the water is boiling, grind your beans. You’ll want a common grind, so that they get caught by the filter, keeping as much as inherent out of your mug.

Remove the top and the filter.

Add the ground into it, two tablespoons for every four to six ounces of water.

First, pour just adequate water to cover the grounds, allowing the it to bloom and start the steeping process.

Add in the rest of the water, leaving adequate room to put the lid and filter back on.

If you want, stir with a wooden or plastic spoon.

Put the lid and filter back on, but don’t push down on the filter yet.

Let it steep for three to five minutes.

Gently push the coffee grounds down to the lowest to separate them from the liquid. Give it a short number of time for the grounds to resolve out.

Pour it into your coffee mug and let it sit for a miniature or two, allowing any remaining sediments to filter to the lowest of your mug.

Pour any extra into a thermos or carafe. If you keep it in the french press, it’ll become over saturated with the grounds, creating a bitter tasting brew.

Enjoy you fresh tasting cup of coffee.

There are many reasons for taking some time away and having a writing break. All writers no matter how busy need a break. They also need a break from their writing. It does make them good writers. Not only does it allow them to come to their writing with a good mental attitude, they can be more willing to learn and have fun with what they are writing.

Below is a list of twenty ways to go out and have a much needed break from writing. This doesn’t need to be costly or even long, just something to get away from your writing even for a few minutes.

Coffee House

1) Go for a walk outside. Even for 10 minutes.

2) Away from your desk call a friend.

3) Read a book, something you enjoy. Set a time limit if you must, but read a episode or two to simply find a new way of thinking.

4) Put on a Cd and dance. Sing if you enjoy that. Often if you need to be away, this helps your writing heighten since you are pushing joy and not discontentment in your head.

5) Do some housework. Something quick, such as putting the dishes away. Throwing in a load of laundry helps as well.

6) Draw or paint something. If you cannot draw or pain you can learn and be kind to yourself.

7) Go for a swim in the pool. A few good lap s has never hurt whatever least of all writers who need some exercise.

Walk around the house and laugh. Laughing is often a great way to write both good and faster.

9) Do a crossword puzzle. A easy one or a hard one, this is using a separate set of brain muscles and helps you with some new works.

10) Go shopping for one new item. Only one item, one which you have indubitably wanted for a long while.

11) Do some gardening.

12) Play a computer game, one which you’ve promised yourself you would play.

13) Play with your children. They need you as well.

14) Read a few blogs.

15) Go and have coffee with friends.

16) Go and see a movie.

17) Sit down wrap a blanket around you and enjoy a glass of hot chocolate

18) Knit or crochet something new.

19) Go out and bowl. Ask a few friends and have fun.

20) simply lean back and stretch at your chair for five minutes.

J C Penney

Coffee

I want you to advent on a quick shopping trip with me. We’re going to the local coffee shop – one where we’ve been a hundred times before. We walk in the door and up to the counter. It’s not particularly busy and the lady at the counter is on the phone. She sounds like she’s sorting out some advertising for the yellow pages, what she’s not doing is paying any attention to us.

After waiting for what feels like an eternity, she ultimately gets off the phone and comes to take our order. No apology and no sign of recognition, just a short, ‘Can I help you?’ I order the same coffee I’ve ordered the last 100 times I’ve been there (Ok, so I’m not very adventurous with my coffee!!), and you order a flat white. The coffees ultimately arrive, except I get your flat white, and you get something that looks like a banana smoothie.

At that point we walk out – and drive another 5 minutes away to a coffee shop we’ve been to a combine of times – only it’s a bit further out of the way so not quite as convenient. This time we walk in the door and the lady behind the counter recognises us smiles and addresses us by name -

Hi Rochelle and friend, how are you today? Would you like the same coffee’s you got last week, or are you after something distinct today? We have some nothing else but appetizing home made brownies that I know you’re going to love. How about I give you one to try, and if you like it, you can get one next time.

When she brings our coffees over – the correct ones that we didn’t even have to ask for she says “We’ve got a draw for a lunch for two – would you like me to put your company cards in?” We walk out of there feeling happy and wanted. When you check your e-mails later on that evening, you see one from the cafe.

Just a quick note to say thanks for advent in, and good luck with the draw for a lunch for two. By the way, if you don’t mind we’ll send you the occasional e-mail to let you know of any specials we have advent up for our Vip customers.

So which coffee shop are you going to go back to next time?

What’s the main unlikeness between the two shops? It’s how they treat their existing customers. The first coffee shop was about to spend 00 on advertising to get new customers through the door. What they didn’t realise was that they already had a gold mine of existing customers. A fact that the second coffee shop realised only too well. You may have heard that it costs 6 times more money to get a new customer than to keep an existing one.

Leap ‘n’ Bound: What are you doing to look after your existing and past customers? Are you guilty of neglecting them in favour of looking new customers? What one activity can you take today that will let your customers know you care?

Trans-dimensional slippage occurs when two dimensions on slightly dissimilar time-lines slide over each other like two playing cards might slide over each other when you fan a deck in your hands. When that “slippage” happens you seem to be able to cross from one size where the time is say 3.03 pm Monday 1st of June to the other size that is located at 3.03 pm Tuesday 16th December. Crossing from one size to the other is seamless you don’t feel it, but by stepping over the road say, you move effortlessly forwards six months in time, say.

I was with an Indian lady I know in a ten-mile traffic jam near Cardiff and after about thirty minutes I pulled off the freeway to get some coffee and have a break. I came into a assistance area called Cardiff Gate, I noticed the cars miles in the distance and the on-ramp going back onto the motorway was chock-a-block. I remember mental it will take us forever to get back on the main road from the on-ramp.

Coffee House

After our ten slight rest stop I pulled out of the parking lot and I suddenly went blank and couldn’t find the road for a second or two. I just couldn’t see it and so I cut off at 45 degrees through a petrol station. I was amazed to find the on-ramp was empty of cars and once on the motorway the ten mile jam had mysteriously disappeared. And so had the cranes and the heavy road tool and the orange cones and all the workers that were causing the jam. It was a bit confusing.

The motorway was free and clear with very light traffic and I as looked up I saw a sign for Bridport. Bridport is about eighteen miles west from the Cardiff Gate assistance area. We had traveled eighteen miles in just a few seconds. And we were in a size that was either ‘backwards in time’ before the gigantic road works scheme started or ‘forwards in time’ in an era after the road works were finished. But in our size at that exact moment there were absolutely no road works or any ten-mile bumper-to-bumper tail back.

It seemed to me when I suddenly couldn’t see the road back at the assistance area we left one world and we entered another. At Bridport we turned round and drove back down the other side of the motorway back to Cardiff Gate and we were once more in the current size in this time-line where the traffic jam and road works were still on-going. I was talking to a American lady many years ago who was friends with Dr. Andrija Puharich Uri Geller’s old mentor/manager and she told me that Uri and her once moved from north New York to Manhattan in seconds in the same way as I moved eighteen miles in Wales, so the phenomena has been heard of before.

Stephen Hawkin, the physicist says time is an illusion. But time is very prominent in triangulating one’s exact position, meaning you are exactly here at 3.03 pm not over there or some place else. Without the time component one can’t of course say of course where anyone is.

I wondered if these seemingly trans-dimensional slippages occur when the illusion of time breaks down inside us for reasons that we don’t know. It is provocative to think about.

I have seen many visions of provocative from place-to-place abruptly but the Welsh sense was the first time I of course experienced it in real life.

Seattle Seahawks

Seattle hopes to rebound from a disappointing 2009 season. Veteran quarterback Matt Hasselbeck appears to be wholesome and the Seahawks have also hired head coach Pete Carrol from Usc to run things on the sidelines. Those two factors alone should be sufficient to put the Seahawks back in contention in a mediocre Nfc West.

Coffee

The Seahawks were able to pick up some key pieces in this years draft. Russel Okung looks like he is ready to step up and take the place of perennial all-pro tackle Walter Jones who retired this offseason. Earl Thomas is a ball hawking security who will infuse youth and athleticism into a secondary that struggled last season. Golden Tate should furnish an additional one target for a Seattle passing game that had problems with injuries, consistency, and producing big plays. Running back Leon Washington, who was acquired in a draft day trade with the Jets, hopes to rebound from a lower leg injury and add some big plays to the running game and special teams.

Lofa Tatupu and Leroy Hill still furnish caress and solid play from the linebacker spot. Second year linebacker Aaron Curry will need to continue to enhance and come to be more of a leader on defense. Chris Clemons has big shoes to fill at defensive end to replace Patrick Kerney who retired this offseason. Lawyer Milloy, while experienced, is still a liability in coverage, so the improvement of Earl Thomas is critical to Seattle’s secondary.

There are a lot of questions nearby the Seahawks, but the division they play in gives them a inescapable margin for error. Seattle still has the most experienced quarterback in the division and with a few tweaks on defense I don’t see any suspect why Seattle can’t win the Nfc West.

Arizona Cardinals

Projected Record: 8-8

The Cardinals have won the Nfc West for the past two seasons. However, the retirement of Kurt Warner makes the Cardinals vulnerable. Matt Leinart is under a lot of pressure to achieve well this season. Derek Anderson was signed as a free agent to step in at quarterback if Leinart struggles.

Larry Fitzgerald and Steve Breaston form one of the best wide receiving duos in the league. Beanie Wells will continue to get more carries this season as he showed the explosiveness and power that the Cardinals have been lacking in their running game in up-to-date seasons. Tim Hightower also provides a nice change of pace for Arizona in the running game.

Although Arizona’s defense struggled in the playoffs last season, there is still suspect to be excited about the Cardinals defense. Arizona spent their first round pick on nose tackle Dan Williams and their second pick on linebacker Daryl Washington. Both are predicted to conduce this year. Darnell Dockett continues to anchor the defensive line and shows no signs of slowing down. Free agent acquisition Kerry Rhodes is hoping to fill the void left by Antrel Rolle who left via free agency. Adrian Wilson is still one of the most bodily safeties in the league and will continue to make receivers pay for going over the middle.

The defense has sufficient talent to create turnovers and make plays in stretches. However, like many defenses they play much good with a lead. The loss of Kurt Warner is huge for this team, not just from a yield standpoint, but also from a leadership perspective. If Matt Leinart can fill that void the Cardinals have a occasion to three-peat as Nfc west champs. If not the Cardinals are seeing at a.500 season.

San Francisco 49ers

Projected Record: 8-8

The 49ers got off to a fast start last year beginning the season at 3-1. After the fast start they stumbled to an 8-8 finish. Injuries to offensive lineman Joe Staley, running back Frank Gore and inconsistency from the quarterback position (Shaun Hill, Alex Smith) were the main causes of the 49ers downward spiral of a year ago. This year the 49ers hope to return the postseason for the first time since the 2002 season.

The 49ers got young and talented on the offensive by selecting tackle Anthony Davis and guard Mike Iupati. Alex Smith has been named the beginning quarterback and this is probably his last season to prove he is not a first round bust. Vernon Davis ultimately emerged as the play maker scouts predicted him to be when he first came into the league in 2006. Second year receiver Michael Crabtree should be more sufficient with a full training camp and off season mini camps under his belt. Frank Gore and Glen Coffee lead a 49ers ground attack that has to be sufficient to keep the pressure off of Alex Smith. The draft day trade for Tedd Ginn, Jr. Will help bolster special teams.

Patrick Willis is the new Ray Lewis. Willis is an absolute tackling machine and his high intensity and determination rub off on his defensive teammates. The 49ers also added security Taylor Mays in the draft. Although Mays stock slipped a bit because of his questionable pass coverage, I think head coach Mike Singletary will find a place for Mays aggressive hard hitting nature in the secondary. Takeo Spikes and Nate Clements are solid veterans who bring leadership and caress to a young defense.

The 49ers could be a true dark horse in the Nfc West, and possibly the entire Nfc, if they can get some consistency at the quarterback position. Their defense and running game are already playoff caliber. I precisely want to pick San Francisco to win the Nfc West but I think their issues at quarterback will have them on the outside seeing in.

St. Louis Rams

Projected Record: 3-13

The Rams only tasted victory once last season, so there is nowhere to go but up. By virtue of their one win St. Louis used the first pick in the draft to elect quarterback Sam Bradford. Bradford missed most of his senior season due to an injury on his throwing shoulder. The key to the Rams long term success is to find a way to form Bradford at a moderate pace without getting him hurt. Sounds easy, but when you pay someone 50 million dollars in guaranteed money improvement tends to get accelerated.

Trying to maximize their investment in Bradford, the Rams selected tackle Roger Safford to help watch his back. They also selected wide receiver Mardy Gilyard who adds some youth and quickness to a receiving corps that struggled to make big plays last year. Steven Jackson will get even more carries than he did last year as the Rams try to keep the pressure from falling onto their young quarterback. Donnie Avery and Laurent Robinson need to step up and stay wholesome as they are the only receivers on the roster with more than two seasons of experience.

The Rams were able to resign free security Oshiomogho Atogwe which helps out a young defense that needs leadership and play production ability. Chris Long needs to continue to enhance and form into the premier pass rusher the Rams conception they were getting when they drafted him in 2007. James Butler and Kevin Dockery are veterans that head coach Steve Spagnuolo brought in to furnish on field direction and leadership to a defense that struggled to find an identity last year.

The Rams are young on both offense and defense with loads of possible on both sides of the ball. How this possible develops will ultimately settle the Rams long term success as well as head coach Steve Spagnuolo’s fate. This year however, expectations are still fairly low for the Rams. As long as they win a few games ( 3 or 4) and are able to form Bradford I think Rams fans (and management) will be happy.

We often hear the dangers of drinking caffeine such as insomnia, headaches, and raised blood pressure (which is not good if you have hypertension). But are there any benefits to drinking coffee?

Coffee

Here are some spirited facts about the midpoint coffee drinker who drinks three to four cups of coffee each day:

Regular coffee drinkers have about 1/3 less asthma symptoms than those of non-coffee drinkers agreeing to a Harvard researcher who studied 20,000 people.
A Kaiser Permanente curative Care agenda study of 128,934 nurses found that coffee drinkers were significantly less likely to commit suicide than nondrinkers.
Average coffee drinkers can have three or four cups of coffee every day without any health risk.
One study found that coffee drinkers have poorer health habits than those who drank no coffee.
Some heavy alcohol drinkers who also drink coffee commonly have less incidence of liver damage than expected.
Another study found that habitancy who drank three to four cups of coffee each day had an 80% lower risk of cirrhosis of the liver and a 25% less occasion of contracting colon cancer when compared to drinking no coffee at all.
Coffee can cause insomnia, and a base complaint among coffee drinkers is that the caffeine disturbs their sleep.
Another study found that non coffee drinkers are five times more likely to design Parkinson’s disease than coffee drinkers and those who drank three to four cups of coffer per day These are some very spirited facts about the midpoint coffee drinker who drinks three to four cups a day. They have a lower incidence of some problems such as colon cancer and Parkinson’s, while at the same time they have poorer health habits.

The poorer health habits probably stem from grabbing a cup of coffee in the morning as they head out the door rather than sitting and eating a healthy breakfast. Then for lunch, in the middle of a busy day, they might grab someone else cup of coffee.

Another characteristic is the coffee drinker who has to have something sweet with their coffee. Instead of having an apple or banana for an afternoon coffee break, they have a cup of coffee with a donut. That sounds delicious, but it is not healthy.

Another poor habit is the coffee drinker who drinks to stay awake after being up till late the night before. Getting very itsybitsy sleep might not seem unhealthy, but it tears down your body’s defenses and leaves you in a weakened health for an assortment of diseases.

Many coffee drinkers also neglect to drink an enough whole of water each day. In in the middle of coffee cups be sure to get in your eight eight-ounce glasses of water that your body needs each day.

According to these studies, coffee drinkers apparently get some health benefits from coffee. They would get even more advantage if they coupled that with healthy habits such as exercising, eating right, drinking abundance of water, and getting a good sleep.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (Asd) is characterized by a wide range of developmental disorders. It affects as many as 1 out of every 150 children. Parents of children with autism can employ many different strategies to help improve their child’s behavior and mood. One way of helping to treat a child with autism or with other intellectual disabilities is to make use of a bean bag chair. These chairs are soft, comfortable, and is able to apply equal press over your child’s whole body. This can help to calm a child down when they begin to show signs of aggression or may think harming them self or others. A bean chair can also be used as an rehearsal aid.

When choosing, the first observation is size. They range in size from as exiguous as three fit all the way up to eight feet. One of the most favorite sizes is six feet wide and allows your child to be wholly immersed in it and is comfortable for them to use when watching television.

Bean

Bean bag chairs are ready in a series of colors and textures. One of the most favorite fabric choices is microfiber suede. It’s soft and plush which is great for all children, especially for children with autism.

There use extends past just being a piece of furniture. One rehearsal you can do is to allow the child to pick up the bean bag chair and move it from one room to the next. This is dependent upon the size and weight of the beanbag chair, but doing so will help to work out the child’s motor muscles. Other rehearsal is to allow the child to sit in the bean bag chair and apply pressure to the sides of the chair as to simulate a cocoon. This kind of rehearsal applies deep pressure touch which can be benefits for autistic children who are prone to violent movements (also known as “crashers”). It enables the child to come to be less sensitive to touch and prevents any opportunities for the child to hurt himself during the process. Regardless of the exercise, it is important to account for the nature of the rehearsal and doing it for a specified estimate of time.
